How does WorkoutFirst work?
WorkoutFirst helps you put exercise before screen time by blocking distracting apps until you reach your daily activity goal.
1. Choose what to block
Select individual apps, entire app categories, or a combination of both. These apps stay blocked until you complete your goal for the day.
2. Set your daily goal
Choose the type of activity you want to work toward:
- Workout Minutes — time spent completing recorded workouts
- Exercise Minutes — activity Apple Health recognizes as exercise
- Steps — your total daily step count
- Active Calories — calories burned through activity and exercise
Set the amount you want to complete each day, and WorkoutFirst takes care of the rest.
3. WorkoutFirst tracks your progress
WorkoutFirst uses Apple Health to monitor your progress automatically. You don't need to manually check in or tell WorkoutFirst when you've completed your goal.
4. Hit your goal. Your apps unlock.
Once Apple Health reports that you've reached your goal, WorkoutFirst automatically removes the restrictions from your selected apps and categories.
5. Start fresh tomorrow
At midnight, your daily progress resets and your selected apps are blocked again. Complete your goal the next day to unlock them again.
